Ethics and Sustainability Efforts

At Fate & Folly, our goal is to create amazing products, while minimizing our environmental footprint in the process. Read about some of our ongoing ethics and sustainability efforts below!

One Tree Planted

We are happy to announce that we have partnered with One Tree Planted to plant one tree for every two products sold at Fate & Folly!

One Tree Planted is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is on a mission to make it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees. Their projects span the globe and are done in partnership with local communities and environmental organizations to create an impact for nature, people, and wildlife.

Reforestation helps to restore forests that have been degraded by human activities or environmental disasters, provide jobs for social impact, and restore biodiversity habitat. Many projects have overlapping objectives that contribute to the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.

Beyond their reforestation projects, One Tree Planted believes that engaging people who want to get their hands in the dirt is critical to raising environmental awareness. That is why they also organize volunteer events, offer educational materials, and provide ways for businesses to give back. By focusing on collaborative sustainability from the ground up, they hope to make a lasting and positive difference for the planet. Learn more at onetreeplanted.org.

PETA's Beauty Without Bunnies Program

Fate & Folly has joined PETA's Beauty without Bunnies program to ensure our products are manufactured using humane practices. We are certified by PETA as an "animal test-free" business, meaning that we do not allow tests on animals at any point in our manufacturing process for our candles and personal care products. We also have signed assurances from our suppliers that they do not conduct, commission, pay for, or allow tests on any ingredients used in our manufacturing process. Where stated, some of our products are also vegan (meaning no ingredients derived from an animal were used in the development of these products).
